Navalny Plaats
in Antwerpen

Alexey Navalny and Yulia Navalnaya

Help TO keep the memory of Alexey Navalny alive

We urge you to support our project ‘Navalny Plats’, which aims to commemorate Alexey Navalny, an opposition activist and modern-day hero who was murdered by the Russian authorities. His name stands alongside Mahatma Gandhi, Martin Luther King Jr, Nelson Mandela and many others whose names are remembered in different ways in the province of Antwerp.

For all these personalities, the struggle for freedom, justice and human dignity has become a cause of life. Their quest to change the world and improve people’s lives proved to be a symbol of hope and inspiration for millions.

The name Navalny Plaats (place) is not only a tribute to Alexey Navalny.  He supported Russia’s integration with the global democratic world and wanted freedom and prosperity for his country, where the highest value should be the human being and his basic rights. And, of course, Alexey was against the war in Ukraine, against any war.

The appearance of Navalny Plaats (place) on the map of Antwerp is another reminder of the importance of democracy, freedom of speech, human rights.

The spontaneous memorial to Navalny at the monument to Peter the Great in Antwerp has been living for three months now. There are always lots of fresh flowers and candles burning. This means that the memorial is necessary and important for the residents. Seeing this, the city administration has been approving its preservation for three months.

But we want Alexey’s name to go down in Antwerp’s history forever.

Unfortunately, this is impossible without public support, because formally the politician is not connected to the city in any way. We need to collect so many signatures possible; we hope that such a desire of the city residents will be difficult to resist.

Your vote is the key to our success. Join us, vote in favor of the project, and help make known our agreement, wisdom, and the power of unification.

We stand for democracy and its principles; we care about European values.

We create a space for eternal remembrance.
